Gladys Ann Wheeler Wright

Gladys Ann Wheeler Wright, age 75, of Pittsboro, died Thursday, October 28, 2021, at the SECU Jim & Betsy Bryan Hospice Home.

Gladys was born in Chatham County on May 8, 1946, to the late Nelson Wheeler and Fannie Eubanks Wheeler. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Wheeler and Wayne Wheeler, and two sisters, Frances Screws, and Esther Shirey. 

Surviving relatives include her husband, John G. Wright, two sons, Dwayne Wright and wife Leesa of Pittsboro, Tony Wright and wife Diane of Siler City, one daughter, Tammy Bass and husband Keith of Wilson, NC, seven grandchildren, Jordan Riggans and husband Casey, Gracie Wright, Kendall Wright, Brittany McDaniel and partner Matt Tiller, Jessica McNeill, Morgan Bare and husband Jacob, and Hunter Bass and wife Jada, six great-grandchildren, Weston Riggans, Evelyn Tiller, Rylee Tiller, Lily Tiller, Cheyenne Bare, Canaan Bare, and one sister, Ava Lee Brower of Staley.  

The family will receive friends Monday, November 1, 2021, from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at New Salem Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:30PM with Pastor Chris Gambos presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
