Frieda Julia (Zawisza) Billings

Frieda (Zawisza) Billings, 95, of Chapel Hill, NC and formerly of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2022 at the SECU Jim and Betsy Bryant Hospice Home of UNC in Pittsboro, NC. Frieda was born on October 10, 1926 to Joseph and Mary (Wojtowicz) Zawisza in No Billerica, MA. She attended Billerica, MA schools. Prior to her retirement, Frieda was employed by the Tax Collector’s Office for the City of Nashua, NH. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the Breast Care Center.

Frieda was married to her husband Edward for 55 years, prior to his death in 2010. She was the loving mother to Edward and Mary Billings of Engelwood, FL and Anne and Bruce Sargent of Chapel Hill, NC.  Cherished grandmother to Michael Billings, Jeffrey Billings, and Katherine (Sargent) and her husband, Marshall Robaczewski. Frieda is survived by a sister, Marilyn Wasylak of No Billerica, MA as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind many good friends in NC and NH.

Frieda was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others. Her family was always at the center of her daily life. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, socializing with friends, watching movies, gardening, and caring for her many houseplants. Frieda was ever faithful to her Catholic faith and to St. Anne de Beaupre. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in NC.

A funeral mass will be held at the Holy Trinity Church in Lowell, MA on May 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM. All are invited to attend. Burial to follow.
