Frank Edward Guenzel

Frank Edward Guenzel, age 54, of Hurst, TX, died Saturday, January 18th, 2020. Frank was born in Belleville, New Jersey, on May 31st, 1965 to Frank Bernhard and Diane Beran Guenzel.

He leaves behind his wife, Kimberly Hearne Guenzel; son, James Hearne; daughter, Samantha Petty; granddaughter Emilia Sanders; parents Frank and Diane Guenzel; aunt Linda (Brian) Schmidt; sisters Lynn (Rich) Raney, Cindy Guenzel; brother Jeff (Amy) Guenzel; brother-in-law Steve Hearne; sisters-in-law Charlotte (Mike) Blackwelder, Diane (Mickey) Caviness, Beverly Harris; and nine nieces and nephews.

Frank found his love for nature and animals at an early age. He loved to tell stories of when he was younger and would find and identify all types of critters nearby his childhood homes. His favorite past times were fishing, hiking, and hanging out with his dogs (Trixey and Roxy). No animal was ever a lost cause to him, even bringing a flying squirrel home to nurse back to health at one time.

The past three years he spent building a relationship with his granddaughter, Emilia, that he adored. They would play together until laughter filled the whole house. He loved to take her outside, teach her about nature, and how to play ball. They would go on rides on the lawnmower and let her pretend drive. He will be dearly missed by all.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 25th, 2020 from 6pm to 8 pm at Donaldson Funeral Home & Cremation Griffin Chapel. A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 26th, 2020 at 1pm at Donaldson Funeral Home & Cremation Griffin Chapel with Pastor Wesley Thomas presiding. Burial will follow at Bynum United Methodist Church cemetery.
