Eleanor (Elly) Joy Streeter, 78, of Spokane, Washington, peacefully passed into her Savior’s presence on February 3, 2026, in Pittsboro, North Carolina after a three-year struggle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Elly was born to Frederick and Jeannette Uhden on July 28, 1947. She gave her life to Christ at a young age and sought to honor Him with her life.
She graduated with a degree in vocal performance from Seattle Pacific College. Shortly thereafter, she followed God’s call to go to the mission field with TWR (Trans World Radio) in Monaco. It was there she met her husband-to-be, Tom Streeter. They were married on September 28, 1974, in Spokane, Washington. They served the Lord together for 52 years in Monaco, the Netherlands, and in Cary, North Carolina. In each location she served the church with her musical gifts and encouraged countless others to share their voices in praise to the Lord.
Elly was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend, touching many lives with her kind heart and her sweet smile. She is survived by her husband, Tom; her daughters, Jennifer and Rachelle (Tonon); her son-in-law, Samuel; her siblings, Les and Becky; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Care Home staff at Pittsboro Christian Village, where she resided in her final years, and to Liberty Home Care and Hospice for their additional care in her final months.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Trans World Radio, 300 Gregson Drive, Cary NC at 2pm on March 7. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to TWR or to Pittsboro Christian Village.
Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve the Streeter familyl.
