Edward Timothy (“Tim”) Buckley, 80, of Chapel Hill, NC passed
away peacefully with the love of his life, Cathryn (“Cathy”)
Joyce Buckley (Koenig), by his side, watching Jeopardy!, on
May 7th, 2021 after a difficult battle with cancer.
Tim was born on December 10th, 1940 to Edward and Virginia
(Giampaoli) Buckley in San Francisco, CA.
After studying and attaining his General Contractor’s License in
Marin County, CA, Tim went on to build a successful
construction company, Buckley Construction, that he owned
and operated until his retirement in 2003, training each of his
sons in a business and industry that they have continued to this
day.
Tim was an eternal optimist, kind, supportive and full of
unconditional love for all. He loved his family and his wife of 59
years, more than anything and was the very definition of a
loving, devoted husband and father. Tim was a joyful man
who’s smile and boisterous laugh is etched in the hearts and minds of those lucky enough to
have known him.
When he wasn’t working, Tim enjoyed traveling the world with Cathy, hunting, fishing and
woodworking. Many a dog, from pointers to labs, enjoyed Tim’s love and companionship
throughout the years and he was rarely without one, or two, by his side.
Tim is survived by his wife, Cathy, his three sons and their wives, Jeffrey (“Jeff”) and Cheryl, Jay
and Kimberly (Kim), Joel and Elizabeth, as well as eight grandchildren, Kevin, Mitchell, Kelsey,
Jake, Tim, Ava, Pella and Tanner, who loved their Grandpa dearly! Tim also leaves behind his
two bothers, Terry and Peter.
Timmy, Tim, Dad, Grandpa will be missed beyond measure, but in his own words, and his wonderful way of living his life, "It's allllllll gooooooood.”
