Doris Milliken Fritz Wegman

Doris Millikan Fritz Wegman 89 of Sanford North Carolina passed away early afternoon on July 29, 2020 at Moore Regional Hospital with family by her side.

Doris was born to the late Robert H. Fritz and Ada Godfrey Fritz in Pearl River New York on December 28, 1930.

Doris lived in Nanuet NY for many years and was a former member of the Nanuet Ladies Auxiliary. She and her husband Bill retired to NC for a life of golf. Doris was very involved in the community (Newcomers Club, Garden Club, Antique Club). She was very involved in sports from a young age and bowled until she was 88. Doris was a very caring person, volunteered at the local hospital and a nearby nursing home, and was always the first to help when a friend was in need. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Was the beloved wife of the late Bill Wegman. She was preceded in death by her brother Mortimer Godfrey Fritz.

Doris is survived by her sister Roberta A. Assur of Falls Church, VA. Also survived by her children, Kenneth(Sheila), Daniel(Sue), Kathleen(Pete), Kevin(Erika), Kerri(Bob), Marianne(Neil) and her 6 grandchildren Chad(Erinn), Shannon, Kristina(Jason), Andrew(Dyane), William, Colleen(Austin), and 4 great grandchildren Olive, Kelsey, Vera, Hailey Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial contributions to be made in Doris’ memory to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or St. Josephs Indian School P.O. Box 326 Chamberlain, SD 57326.
