Dora Armellino (Rovento), age 100, of Pittsboro, North Carolina – formerly of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023.
Born in West New York, New Jersey, on July 7, 1922, Dora worked as an embroiderer and later for Meals on Wheels, but she dedicated most of her life to raising her children. Truly a professional homemaker, Dora was a wizard with an iron, meticulously pressing shirts for her family until the age of 98. She was also a fantastic cook and was well known for her amazing Sunday “gravy” and meatballs.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Armellino in 1983 and 16 siblings, she is survived by her daughter, Patricia Dinicola and her husband Edward, her son, John Armellino, and her brother Frank Rovento. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Nicholas Armellino and his wife, Amy; Patrick Dinicola and his wife Karen; John Armellino and his wife Christina, Edward Dinicola and his husband Javier; Lauren Annicelli and her husband Robert; and six great-grandchildren Olivia & William Dinicola, Nicholas & Roman Armellino, and Sophia & Luca Annicelli.
A Funeral Service will be held in North Bergen, New Jersey in the next few weeks.
