Deborah Neville Gooding

Deborah Neville Gooding, age 74 of Pittsboro, NC passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. She was an “Old Fashioned” woman of many talents and a friend to all who met her.  

Deborah was born March 19, 1947 at Watts Hospital in Durham, NC, daughter to the late Robert B. and Myrtle Crabtree Neville. This traditional lady was big on family, big on Duke basketball, and big on classic country music, especially George Jones and Conway Twitty.

 Deborah spent over 40 years nursing patients back to good health. She loved her work, especially caring for the many children she grew to love.

Surviving relatives include her son, James C. West; daughter, Jennifer C. McCarty; two grandchildren, Faron McCarty and Jon Cross; and two great-grandchildren, Greyson and Joseph Cross.                                                                                                                  

The funeral will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, April13, 2021 at Damascus Congregational Christian Church, Chapel Hill, NC.
