Clinton Goodwin Obituary

Clinton “Clint” Goodwin, age 40, died at home on Saturday, October 8, 2022. He was born on July 15th, 1982 in Chapel Hill, NC at UNC Memorial Hospital to Edwin and Janice Goodwin. He attended Chatham County Schools and graduated from Northwood High School. He was a member, attended and was baptized as a child of God at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, NC.

Clinton is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Ashley Carol Goodwin (Woody), son Carson James Goodwin of the home, daughter, Mia Gabrielle Snave of Mebane, NC, sons-in-Love, Walter Mack Stone, Christopher Michael Stone and Lucas Andrew Davis of Pittsboro, NC, daughter-in-Love Hannah Leigh Stone, of Pittsboro, NC, mother, Janice Nordon Blasko and stepfather, Michael Eugene “Papa Swall” Blasko, sister, Holly Elizabeth Gansel (Goodwin) of Chicago, IL, stepbrothers, Abraham Blasko and William Blasko of Durham, NC, Michael Joseph Blasko of Raleigh-Durham, NC and Joshua Blasko of Goldston, NC and stepsister, Betty Blasko of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Arnette Goodwin.

Clinton was the beloved nephew of Judy and Leon Hackney of Apex, NC and grandson of John and Jan Russell of Chapel Hill, NC.  Clinton had never met a stranger and passed that loving trait among many others on to his son Carson.  He was always wanting to help others or make someone’s day with his contagious smile and conversation.  He was a loving husband who lifted up and adored his wife Ashley, who he endearingly called, “Tater Tot.”  Clinton was a wonderful daddy, daddy he didn’t have to be, uncle, son, and grandson.  He participated in the rodeo community as a bull rider for many years and loved the sport just as much as being a fan.  He lived his life by the Cowboy Code and loved living his Cowboy Life and sharing that with his children, his loved ones, and his friends.  He had a heart for all animals and working with his hands; especially to serve others and make them happy. He did this all with a sense of humor like no other.  Clinton was a die-hard Tar Heel Fan, Cowboys fan, a family man, and man of Faith.  He was loved by everyone he met and will be forever and deeply missed by all those who did.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Sanctuary from 12:00- 12:50pm.  The funeral service will be at 1:00pm at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Sanctuary.  A graveside will immediately follow the service at the Mt.
