Carol Behringer Obituary

Carol Jane Behringer went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on October 28, 2020 at her Pittsboro Christian Village home in Pittsboro, NC.

A native of Orange County, NY, Carol was born May 26, 1927 to the late Lillian Auchmoody and Clyde B. Merwin. She was married to Walter Edward Behringer for 63 years, until his passing in 2013. They lived in Raleigh for 43 years and were members of North Ridge Bible Chapel. They moved to Pittsboro Christian Village in 2009. Her brothers Clayton Merwin and George Merwin and her sister in law, Muriel Simanek preceded her in death.

Surviving to cherish her memory are two sons, Jeffrey C. Behringer and his wife Kathy of Garner, NC and James E. Behringer of Raleigh; daughter, Jill B. Byrd and husband Tim of Crimora, VA. Carol is also survived by ten grandchildren; Jake Behringer and wife Kristina of Cheyenne, WY, Zachary Behringer and wife Elizabeth of Raleigh, Samuel Behringer and wife Hilary of Raleigh , Luther Behringer and wife Tina of Houston, TX , Chad Behringer and wife Claire of Raleigh, Laura Torres and husband Matt of Ashville, NC, Bretagne Brumm and husband Peter of Helena, MT, Logan Byrd and wife Renee of Charlottesville, VA, Edward Carlyle Castleberry of Cary and Daniel Castleberry of Pittsboro. Eight Great-grandchildren also survive: Zoe and Max and Reid, Miley and Ziggy, Alina and Adrian, and Zephaniah. She is also survived by her sister in law, Martha Merwin of Longview, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol will join Walter in earthly burial, Monday, November 2, 2020 at Chatham Memorial Park in Siler City, NC with her family present.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pittsboro Christian Village for caring for Mom for 11 years and Liberty Hospice for their care. We also thank the residents of Pittsboro Christian Village and the members of North Ridge Bible Chapel for their love and prayers for many years.
