Betty Joe Robinson Alston

Betty Joe Robinson Alston, age 84, of Apex, died Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Betty was born in Harnett County on April 7, 1942, to the late Lindwood Robinson and Callie McLaughlin Robinson. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Henry Alston, two brothers; Charles Robinson, Jimmy Robinson, one sister; Ines Robinson, and one brother-in-law; Raymond Harris.

Surviving relatives include one son, Leon Alston and wife Twyla Alston of Morrisville, daughter Debra Mangum of Apex, two grandchildren, Tiffany and Larry Mangum Jr., two great-grandchildren, Legend and Ali Mangum, one brother; Exel Robinson, three sisters; Annie Ruth Mckenzie and husband Bud, Peggy Leathers and husband Oris, one sister; Judy Robinson, two brother in laws; Joseph Harris and wife Lydia, James Harris, one sister in law Claretta Harris and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, May 29, 2026, at 11AM at Mitchell’s Chapel AME Zion Church 1085 Mitchells Chapel Road Pittsboro, NC 27312 with Rev. Little presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
