Barbara Ann (Rogers) Wedding, 70, of Graham, NC, peacefully passed away at home on November 22, 2022.
Barbara was born October 30, 1952, in Bethesda, MD, as a “military brat,” and a brat she was in the funniest of ways… Betting she was born with a smile on her face, she laughed about all things, all day, all the time. The room was LOUD and joyful with her presence! Known to so many as strong-willed, kind-hearted, jovial, and hard-headed. On November 22, the world lost a fantastic lady; however, Heaven gained a light-hearted, kind soul with a sense of humor like no other. Moreover, Barbara has reunited with many she so dearly loved those who have gone to be with our Almighty Father before her.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Melissa & Shane Gray (the world’s greatest son-in-law); Grandson, Justin Gray (Barbara’s angel); her brothers, Wayne Rogers and Glenn & Susan Rogers; Nephew, Matt & Shannon Rogers; Niece, Becky Rogers; Great Nephews, Kole Rogers and Colin Rogers-Skelley; Great Niece, Kora Rogers; her beloved dogs, Bear & Minnie, and many other family members.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth (Dirty) and Phyllis Rogers & Grandson, Tyler Shane Gray.
Barbara retired in early 2013 from the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) headquarters in Upper Marlboro, MD. IAM is a trade Union representing hundreds of thousands of workers, and Barbara was one of the strongest in the Union! She stood as a shop steward on many terms to help protect her fellow brothers & sisters and worker rights. Along with her lustiest career, her number was her family! As a single parent & mother of one child in Melissa, Barbara ensured, Melissa had the best life. Immediate family and pets always surrounded her. Barbara would gain two grandchildren listed above, and then Melissa took a back seat to all things. Tyler & Justin were her world beyond belief some days! “They could do no wrong.”
The family will welcome friends at Donaldson Funeral Home at 396 West St., Pittsboro, NC, for a Memorial Service on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 2 pm.
In place of flowers, the family requests donations in Barbara’s honor be made to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Pittsboro, NC, or the Humane Society of Alamance County in Burlington, NC.
