Anzenette "Ann" Andrews Jenkins

Anzenette Hackney Andrews McKnight Jenkins, 87, died at her home after a prolonged illness on May 11, 2023.

She was born on April 9, 1936, to the late Clara Dell Hackney and Henry Raymond Andrews.

Anzenette (Ann) attended Chapel Hill Elementary, Junior, and High School. While attending Chapel Hill High School she studied voice at UNC-Chapel Hill  under Dr. Elzabeth Schinhan who had studied in France, Germany, and Italy. Anzenette sang at many weddings and other special events during her lifetime.

She was a secretary at UNC hospital and then moved to the Foundation for Better Health of Durham as the Administrative Assistant to Vic Moore before retiring in 1998. Having raised her 4 children in Parkwood (Durham, NC), she moved to Pittsboro after retirement to be closer to her parents and grandchildren.

Anzenette is survived by her 3 daughters Vivian Lynn McKnight (Pittsboro), Beth Anne McKnight Gipe (Doug), and Virginia Lloyd Sgromolo (Summerville,SC) as well as her daughter-in-law Debra McKnight and sister-in-law Glenda Andrews (Pfafftown). She leaves behind 13 grandchildren, and 11 great

grandchildren.

Anzenette was preceded in death by her brothers Henry Raymond Andrews, Jr. and Kearney Hill Andrews as well as her son, Samuel Bradford McKnight.

Memorial service will be scheduled in the future.

Cremation.
