Ruby Jane (Farrell) Mason

Ruby Jane Farrell Mason, age 75, of Pittsboro, died Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at UNC Hospitals.

Jane was born in Chatham County on August 14, 1942 to the late Olan and Christine Stubbs Farrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband J.B. Mason, son Jamie Farrell, two sisters Nonie Jelinek and Rosy Sykes, and one brother Van O. Farrell.  

Jane is survived by her daughter Nikki Plummer and husband Shannon of Pittsboro, sister Peggy Cotten and husband Wayne of Pittsboro, three grandchildren Ryan Farrell, Alex Plummer, and Noah Plummer, two great-grandchildren Annabelle Farrell and Elena Farrell, and longtime companion and best friend Bill Griffin.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1PM at New Salem Church with Pastor Chris Gambos and Pastor Wesley Thomas presiding. Following the service, the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall at New Salem. A private family burial will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jane’s memory to the Fellowship Hall Building Fund at New Salem Church. 5030 Old Graham Road Pittsboro, NC 27312.
