Robert George Query

Mr. Robert George Query, 83, died in his home Tuesday, October 9, 2018.

Bobby was born in Candor, NC to the late Spencer Henderson Query and Clara Dawkins Query. He graduated from NC State University with a BS in Engineering. Bobby was a master musician on the piano and played a variety of other instruments as well. In addition, he was a member of the Virginia Barbershop Quartet and performed at the White House to a standing ovation. He retired as an engineer with Ford Motor Company and the Naval Air Service of Virginia. Bobby was a sports enthusiast and had a lot of adventures. He held licenses as a pilot, commercial advertising and was a certified scuba diver. He was a member of the C-Cape Tractor Club of Sanford and an avid tractor, motorcycle and antique car enthusiast. He truly enjoyed living his life to the fullest.

Bobby is survived by three nephews, Spencer Burns of Holden Beach, NC, David Burns and wife Kathy, of Apex, NC and Frank Burns of Sanford, NC; and close friends, Robert & Sarah Castleberry of Sanford. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Zona Query Burns and Edith Query.

The visitation will be from 12-1:30pm, Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Donaldson Funeral Home – 396 West St., Pittsboro, NC 27312. A graveside service will follow 2:00pm, Sunday, at Lee Memory Gardens, 2600 Hawkins Ave, Sanford, NC 27330.
