Lindo Marion Webster, age 87, of Pittsboro, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 10, 2018.
Lindo was born in Chatham County on September 29, 1930 to the late Lacy Webster and Annie Johnson Webster. He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Webster and son Lindo Webster, Jr. A long time native of Chatham County, Lindo had a love for family, land and community. A dairy farmer at a young age, Lindo later became an icon in the local poultry business, first working for Webster Poultry, and then continuing on as general manager through several company transitions, lastly with Townsend Poultry from which he retired after 50 years of service. He also held leadership positions with the NC Poultry Federation. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Emmaus Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Lindo was a devoted father and grandfather who spent many loving hours delighting his grandchildren with various motorized toy vehicles and go carts.
Surviving relatives include daughter Deborah Bowes of Pittsboro, daughter- in-law Lynn Webster of Chapel Hill, sister Frances Harrington of Peachland, NC, four grandchildren, Jaime Webster, Courtney Webster Cowdin, Travis Webster, Jason Bowes, and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 6PM to 8PM at Donaldson Funeral Home & Cremation Griffin Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 2PM at Emmaus Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Moore and Pastor John Harrington, Jr. presiding. Burial will follow Church Cemetery.
