Joseph Armistead Neff

Joseph Armistead Neff, of Durham, NC died of natural causes on May 2, 2019 at age 92.

Joseph was born February 5, 1927 in Dayton, OH, to the late Marquis D. Neff and Mattie P. Dunn. He was a veteran of WWII and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. After the war, he became a pressman for the Washington Post. He moved to Wilmington, DE and was instrumental in publishing the USA Today daily newspaper.  

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years, Geraldine Ott Neff. He is remembered by his three daughters, Susan McGregor (David), Shelley Neff and Sharon Brown (John); his six grandchildren, David, Colin, Shawn, Graham, Emily and Jonathan; along with seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Donaldson Funeral Home & Cremation. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 11:00AM at the National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC with Masonic Rites to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the SPCA.

Joseph was a good man who loved his family, his country and his God.
