Jerry Alan Boone

Jerry Alan Boone, age 71, of 425 Moon Meadow Lane, Pittsboro NC, and Elizabeth City, NC died Thursday, August 24th at his home, of newly diagnosed pancreatic cancer. Mr. Boone was born in Stuart, Florida on February 13, 1946 to the late Leon and Fuga Lee Boone. He was preceded in death by brothers Edward and Carter Boone and grandson Gabriel Boone Cummins.

Jerry served our country in the United States Army serving in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda Lovett Boone, daughters; Elizabeth Guri (Neal) of Savannah, GA, Julie Cummins (John) of Pittsboro, NC, along with his sister, Winnie Boone.

Jerry loved his banjo, history, building, growing things, and never being idle. Always a good neighbor and loved by everyone he met. His goal was to put everyone at ease.

He taught his grandchildren who he lovingly called his 4 treasures, about work ethic, taking care of each other, being thankful for your blessings, and to always love.

He raised two daughters but he truly had two sons in his sons-in-laws.

He lived truly the best life worth living.
