James Randall Grant

James Randall Grant, 40, of Pittsboro, NC died December 31, 2019.   He was born in Chicago Il, spending most of his childhood in Houston, Tx. 

He is survived by wife, Renee Grant; 5 sons, Brett Kennedy, James Henderson, Dillon Henderson, Logan Henderson, and Cayden Henderson; 2 daughters, Susanna Henderson and Sierra Henderson; Sister, Janice Grant; Brothers, David Rao and Mike Rao; Step-father, Mervin Rao; Step-brother, Devin Sims; Step-sisters Elizabeth Grant, Rosalynn Leigh; Step-Mother Melissa Grant. 

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Dana Smith Rao and Father, Charles Randall Grant Jr. 

James was the kind of friend who was always ready to lend a hand, tell a joke, or give you a big hug. He wanted to celebrate your victories, support you through rough times and love you when you felt unlovable.

James was able to achieve, in the last few years of his life, things he always thought were impossible. Four months ago he married the love of his life, Renee, and embraced each one of her children as his own. Conversations with him often turned towards how proud he was of each one - always referring to them as "my kids". He recently found biological family, and as with his children, he loved and was loved by them.

James was always grateful for the love and support he received from his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 11 at 11:00 am at Donaldson Funeral Home 396 West Street | Pittsboro, NC 27312.  A private reception for family will be held after.
