Eva Dorothy (Hart) King

Dorothy Hart was born to Eve and Roxie Hart and raised in Goldston, NC.  She grew up in a warm, family environment with six siblings; Allen, Arthur, Mildred, Carl Lee, Margaret Ann, and Dorothy's twin sister, Doris. All have preceded her in death except Margaret Ann (McLaurin) and her twin who has stayed by her side, Doris (Denny).

Dorothy was married to Bruce Harris with whom she gave life to Phyllis Burns (Barry); Susan Brantley (Chuck); and Victor. Dorothy also leaves behind six grandchildren: Shane (Bonnie), Josh (Cindie), and August (Denise) Burns; Noah Brantley, Eva Irmy (Ziad); Allison (Bill) Pifer. There are six great grandchildren. In addition, she leaves behind two special relatives; Bama King and Andrea Kadlec.

Much of Dorothy's latter life was spent as a homemaker but earlier she worked at Chatham Mills and then operated an independent hair salon. While managing a textile office later, she met Irv King, whom she married and moved with him from Burlington to Whispering Pines where they built their dream house. There, they enjoyed a very comfortable social life where Dorothy, a lifelong and youthful beauty, could exercise her competitive spirit on the golf course.

A funeral service for Dorothy will be held 2:00PM Monday, December 11, 2017 at Antioch Christian Church, 246 Antioch Christian Church Rd., Bear Creek, NC 27207. A committal will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately after burial.
