Janie, Oh my goodness I just learned of Leon's passing. I am so sorry for the loss of this great guy..I remember good old days talking and laughing with him at Doc's office so many years ago. I remember the day he walked in beaming, he squatted down next to me at the filing cabinet and said "it's a boy!" That was one proud daddy! You two have always been in my favorite list of people. I don't mean to sound like a snob, but we do have our favorites, don't we? Love to you, Brian and family, Sharon

I will always be grateful for the smiles he shared and created for others. His sense of humor and love of life was such a gift, and he was someone I have always maintained was one of my all time favorite people. Thank you Brian for sharing him with us kids at baseball practice-he had a nasty pitch and could strike most of us out through high school and then joke with us about it afterwards. Sending prayers and best thoughts to Brian, Shelly, Jacob and Mrs. Shaw.

Janie & Bryon, I am so very sorry about Leon. I will miss him so much. He always had to get on the phone and tell me a joke or we would laugh and cut up when Janie and I were talking. He was such a sweet and friendly man. I know that it is hard but he is no longer suffering and breathing that beautiful air with no problems in Heaven and will be watching over all of you and especially Jacob. You are in our thoughts and prayers now and in the days ahead. Love each one of you!!

Leon was one of my most favorite family members. He was such a fun person to talk to and every time he called Lucille and I was there, we talked for the longest time, Health and distance may have kept us from seeing each other as often as we may have liked, but I will never forget him. Praying for all of the family.

Janie, Bryan, Shelley, and Jacob,
Your family became some of our earliest friends when we moved to Pittsboro, and we had many fun-filled moments with you. We shall miss Leon's sense of humor and his compassion for others. Our memory of him is always doing something for someone else. He was a master artist in woodworking, and we always admired the beauty of his creations. We appreciate all that he did for our community as he served faithfully in the Fire Department. We especially lovingly remember him (and Janie) as members of our Couples' Class in Sunday School many years ago. We shall miss him but are so grateful that we had the privilege of knowing him. God bless you, Janie, as go through the days ahead. We are so glad that you have Bryan and Shelley nearby to comfort you.

We love you,
Bill and Sims

Janie and Bryan,

Please know our thoughts are about you today. We just heard of the loss of Leon and want you to receive our condolences. Leon was a wonderful person and an outstanding part of Chatham County Schools. I still treasure the school bus Leon gave me. It has always been so meaningful to me. We know this is a hard time.
The community has lost a pillar of support!
