Colon Leon Shaw

Colon Leon Shaw passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at UNC Hospice in Pittsboro.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents Colon L. Shaw and Lois S. Shaw. He is survived by his wife, Janie M. Shaw; son Brian and wife Shelly Shaw and grandson Jacob Shaw; sister Carolyn S. Mullen (H.T.) of Elizabeth City, NC.

Leon was self-employed in the retail furniture business for many years. Deciding he was not ready for “retirement”, went to work for the Chatham County Schools Maintenance Department until his retirement.

He enjoyed wood working as a hobby and was also an active volunteer fireman for 50 years with Pittsboro Fire Department.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11AM at Donaldson Funeral Home & Cremation Chapel with Rev. Ray Gooch presiding.

There will not be a visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Leon’s memory to the Pittsboro Fire Department, P.O. Box 573 Pittsboro, NC 27312 or to the UNC Hospice Home, 100 Roundtree Way, Pittsboro, NC 27312.
