Eric Ranson Cochrane, age 68, died peacefully Sunday, March 3, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 13, 1956, in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Ralph Porter Cochrane and Dorothy Louise James Cochrane.
Surviving Eric is his devoted and loving wife, Priscilla Davis Cochrane; two sons and their wives, whom he called his daughters-in-love, Andrew Holland Cochrane (Amanda) of Shelby, North Carolina and Nathaniel S. Cochrane (Alyson) of Sanford, North Carolina; brother, James I. Cochrane (Donna) of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Lynn Scott Cochrane (Louis Middleman) of Woodland Hills, California and Nancy Kay Cochrane McClellan (Stokes) of Huntersville, North Carolina; and 3 grandsons.
Eric’s defining characteristic was his love for his Lord and Savior. He also dearly loved his family and friends. He touched the lives of many with his warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. Eric was a mechanical engineer for many years before retirement, and he always enjoyed learning more about the world around him. Eric loved the time he could spend at the beach, cherishing his years at Oak Island with his family and friends. While Eric will be missed by everyone who knew him, we celebrate a well-lived life and cherish the many wonderful memories.
A Celebration of Life will be held at New Salem Church with Pastor Chris Gambos on Sunday, March 10th at 12:15 pm. Guests are welcome to join the church for worship before the Celebration of Life, starting at 10:30 a.m.
