Prentiss Aubrey "PA" Mitchell

Prentiss Aubrey “PA” Mitchell, age 79, of Pittsboro, NC died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at UNC Hospitals.

PA was born in Bedford County, Virginia on June 22, 1938 to the late Walker Davis Mitchell and Anita Craighead Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law Tommy Vickers, four brothers W.D. Mitchell, Eugene Mitchell, Roger Mitchell, Wayne Mitchell; and one sister Harriett Mitchell Saunders.

Surviving relatives include his wife Patricia “Pat” Cooper Mitchell, two sons: Jeff Mitchell and wife Michelle of Rolesville, NC, Clint Mitchell and wife Beth of Pittsboro, two daughters: Bonnie Morris and husband Rodney of Pittsboro, Pam Vickers of Pittsboro, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, one brother John Elbert Mitchell and wife Betty of Roanoke, Virginia, and one sister Madeline Howard of Bedford, Virginia.  

The family will receive friends Friday, January 5, 2018 from 12PM to 1PM at Bynum United Methodist Church. The Funeral Service will follow at 1PM with Rev. BJ Nielsen presiding. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Military Rites.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bynum United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund 774 Bynum Road Pittsboro, NC 27312.
