Michael Edward Harger

Michael Edward Harger, 56, of Carrboro, NC, passed away, Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

A native of Danville, VA, he was born March 1, 1961 to Jean M. Stallings and the late Samuel C. Harger. Michael was a 1979 graduate of Tunstall High School in Dry Fork, VA. He honorably served in the U.S. Army and retired as a disabled combat veteran. During his time in the Armed Forces, he served in combat in Panama, Grenada, Operation Desert Shield, and Desert Storm. He was a loving father and a good-hearted man who gave back to his community by supporting Meals On Wheels and helping people in need. His children and the military were most important in his life.

Michael is survived by his wife, Karen Hinson Harger of Charlotte, NC; sons, Michael Harger II of Asheboro, NC and David Wyatt Harger of Charlotte; daughter, Jamie Tebeck of Raeford, NC; mother, Jean Stallings of Gambrills, MD; brothers, Sandy Harger of Dayton, OH and Steve Harger of Blairs, VA; sister, Amy Lynn Carter of Danville, VA; and six grandchildren, Christian Luce, Adelyn Tebeck, Susan Tebeck, Wyatt Tebeck, Bodie Harger and Finley Harger.

A memorial service is planned for 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Donaldson Funeral Home and Cremation, 396 West St., Pittsboro, NC. Michael will receive full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery.
