Lula (Bunker) White

Lula Bunker White passed away at home under the care of hospice on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Dennis Nathan Bunker and Hero Stone Bunker. Her father was a grandson of Eng Bunker, one of the original Siamese Twins.

Lula was a credit manager for Capital City Concrete (Ready Mix) for approximately twenty years. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association for twenty-five years and served as treasurer for the Tar Heel Capital Chapter. Lula grew up in the Methodist Church and was a long-time member of Highland United Methodist Church on the corner of Lake Boone Trail and Ridge Road in Raleigh. She attended Elon College and was a notary public and real estate broker for thirty-five years.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald M. White, Sr., to whom she was married for fifty-eight years; her son Gerald M. White, Jr.; her son Samuel Dennis White; her brother Nathan Bunker; and her brother Jeremiah Bunker. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Eichenberger, her husband David, and their two children Ethan and Lauren, of Cary; her daughter Stacy White and her two children Jade and Nate, of Raleigh; her brother Homer Bunker of Memphis, Tennessee, and his family; her sister Helen Bunker of Chatham County and her family; her sister Mary Blanton of Bear Creek and her family; and the families of her deceased brothers Jeremiah and Nathan. She is also survived by many more cousins, other extended family, and friends.

The funeral service will be held at Highland United Methodist Church,1901 Ridge Road, Raleigh at 1:30 pm on Saturday, November 4, 2017, with Rev. Dr. Alan Swartz presiding. Immediately followed by a reception in the fellowship hall. A Funeral service will follow at Hanks Chapel Church, 125 Hanks Loop Road in Pittsboro at 4:00 pm with Rev. Bob Wachs presiding. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
