John Martis Boggess

John Martis Boggess, 45, of Pittsboro, passed away unexpectedly in a car accident on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.

He was born in Columbus, Ohio to Jean and Keifer Boggess. He was married to his highschool sweetheart, Danielle for twenty years, with whom he has three beautiful children Evan, 14, Brandi, 12, and Ava, 10. After graduating from NC State, he passionately pursued his career as an electrical engineer beginning at FP&L where he was affectionately known as G-Switch, continuing for 17 years at ABB, and ending his expertise at Kiewit. John poured his heart into every project and task for his family and work and constantly searched for ways to make others' lives easier. He embodied the sacrificial love husbands and fathers are called to in the Bible. John loved fishing, working on cars, and he was able to fix just about anything. His life motto was to never give up and always make time for snuggles. Along with his wife, Danielle, and children Evan, Brandi, and Ava, John is survived by his mother Jean Boggess, father Keifer Boggess, brothers Keifer, Jared, and Conner Boggess, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Boggess will be held from 1:30-2:30PM, Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. The funeral service will start at 2:30PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
