I was shocked and saddened when I came upon this tonight. I worked with Jeff at IBM from 1988 to around 1993 when he left for bigger and better things, We worked on 3rd shift in machine maintenance then later in the utility plant, and we worked hard, we played hard too. I only have good memories of Jeff. My heart goes out to Jeff's parents, Sherri and the kids

My thoughts and prayers are with you Sherri and your sons and daughter-in-law and extended family. So many beautiful words of love expressed about Jeff's character and honour by all that knew him. May those loving memories sustain all of you and provide comfort during this difficult time of loss. Your AA family loves you, Sherri.

I am so sad to hear about Jeff. I worked with him in facilities for almost 19 years. I have never met anyone who had the energy and enthusiasm that he had. We work on countless projects together. I will miss the fact that I will not be able to see him or call him. I will miss him dearly, until we meet again my brother. Prayers to the Blackmon family through this difficult time.

I met Jeff when I worked in the lab at LORD Corporation some 20+ years ago. I use to go over to the machine shop and cut substrate while he worked in the tool room. Years later Jeff was still Jeff and I will miss him immensely.
Prayers to the family as you grieve your loved one and pick up the pieces to move forward. Celebrating Jeff's life with much love - Charmaine

Our hearts are breaking for Sherri, Jourden, Hunter and Savannah and for all that are feeling this huge loss. Jeff made lasting memories with all of us and lived a BIG life on this earth. Even though he left us way too soon he will be remembered in so many ways for the deeds he has done and the way he made people feel. There are no bad memories of Jeff...he truly made the world a better (and more fun) place to be. RIP Jeff...all our love. Lori, Jimmy and Chase

I have worked with Jeff the past 5 years at Lord Corporation. He made a deal with me when I started that he would help me and I would help him. He helped me many times during my employment and always was a kind person to deal with. There is nothing he couldn't take care of and he always did it with a smile. He was a light that was much needed and appreciated at Lord and we will miss him dearly. I considered him a friend and really wish I could thank him for all he did. Very sorry for your loss and ours as well.

I am sorry for you loss. I don't have words. I still can't believe it. So many memories from way back in Hickory with his old dog Happy playing out in the woods around the old pond. And then later in Clayton, who could forget Kerr lake vacations and late night poker and all the trouble we would get into. It is goodbye for now but I will see you later Jeff.

Truly one of a kind, Jeff was the person who make everyone feel special. His humor, thoughtfulness and creativity can be matched by no one. It’s hard to look anywhere around the Cary campus and not see something that Jeff did to make it better.
We were very fortunate to have Jeff in our lives, although the time was too short. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Blackmon family -

Jeff was a phenomenal man. I cannot believe he’s gone. Larger than life and always hard at work making our campus better for hundreds of people. He always had such passion. His creations around Lord, especially at Halloween, are legendary. I have no idea how he did it all. To the Blackmon family, we were blessed to have Jeff every day. We are here to help you in any way we can.

Clarence and Hilda Blackmon, as surviving parents of a wonderful son, Jeff, you are surely feeling what every parent hopes they never have to experience. I have experienced the loss of a husband, a wonderful man that you both loved, but have never experienced the loss of a child and hope that I never have to experience that terrible loss. I was helped to understand what my Mother and Father- in -law was going through when my husband died by a very wise man that came to visit with me. I will share this special remembrance with you in person. Just know you have our love and prayers as you try to get through this very hard time. Love, Frankie
