Irene (Poe) McLaurin

Mildred Irene Poe McLaurin, age 91, of Siler City, died Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at her home.

Irene was born in Chatham County on August 29, 1926 to the late Lyman Drewey Poe and Gladys Covert Poe. She was also preceded in death by her husband Ralph McLaurin, three brothers, R.T. Poe, Jimmy Poe, Wade Poe, and grandson in law Michael Cunningham.  

Surviving relatives include son Edward McLaurin and wife Sandra of Siler City, daughter Teresa McLaurin Bower and husband Douglas of Springfield, Illinois, five grandchildren Shane Brafford, Ginger Cunningham, Edward McLaurin III, Cathy Unsbee, Kelly Smith and five great – grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 4PM at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Gooch presiding.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund c/o Dixie Clark 340 Landrum Creek Siler City, NC 27344.
