I think of Greg every single day, when I tie my Double-Winsor knot that he taught me on my first night of boarding school. If he hadn't shown me that kindness (I was woefully unprepared for the rigors of campus life) my first chapel and mess hall experience would have been much more stressful. A great teacher, that moment symbolized Greg so well. Just a nice, caring, generous person who didn't always get the credit he deserved. I wish I'd told him this when he was still alive. You'll be missed, pal, especially at our 45th reunion this year.

Greg was a really great guy and I am better for having known him and Julie ever since moving to this area. So sad he is gone so unexpectedly and I will miss seeing him at department functions and seeing him in the band.

Greg was a Tarheel through and through from the time we went to Christ School together and throughout his life. Even though I'm a 'Yankee' he encouraged me to attend Chapel Hill. What a positive spirit! Godspeed to his family and many friends. May he rest in peace!

Losing a loved one in death is always a very difficult time. During these times in my life, I like to look to the Bible for comfort. Revelation 21:3,4 talks about a wonderful time in the near future when God will wipe out all sickness, pain, tears and death. I hope that this will bring you some comfort in your time of grief.

I am so sorry for the loss of Greg. He was such a wonderful person to be around. Very few people are as genuinely nice, caring, helpful, and sincere as Greg; and he will surely be missed. It was such a privilege to be one of Greg's work "BFFs", and I will miss exchanging stories about our kids. Even though we didn't meet in person, I felt like I knew Hayden and Raegan; and Greg would always ask about my girls like he knew them personally. I hope the family can find comfort in the hopes of being united with their dear loved one again. (Job 14:14,15 Acts 24:15)

Greg was my co-worker but most of all, my friend. A friend who could just sit down and swap stories, whether about work, life, or football. We worked together, went to football games together, and saw each other in the community. He was always the same where ever we were. Greg, you will be missed!

Please accept my deepest sympathies. Greg was a wonderful person – a terrific colleague and a friend to many at UNC Human Resources and others in the UNC community. He had a positive disposition no matter what the situation -- was quick to swap a story, talk about his tarheel football team, and just share a laugh. He was integral to the HR Information Management and Benefits teams for many years and will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
